What can I do?
So my husband and I found an abused puppy the other night, and took her in. She seems to be getting better but she still worries and cries when I leave the room, and she lets out really big groans sometimes when she lays down. She is scared of going outside by herself. What can I do to let her know that everything will be ok ??
We pet her all day, and we finally got her tail wagging. She soooo sweet, and we tell her good things all the time. I just want to know how to reassure her.

First off Thank you for being Loving and caring! If she is letting out loud groans when she lays down ( something might be hurting) A vets visit is a good idea. I would take her and explain that she was abused.Give her sometime to warm up to you remember she probably went through some pretty bad stuff. Get her own blanket and toy to cuddle with. When you leave leave the TV or radio on for her.Pet her soon as you return. As long as you show her love she will start to trust you. Best Wishes and Good Luck!

She seems to have had a traumatic past ....... it will take some time before she starts to trust again ...... Be patient ...
she will sooon come out of her shell , provided she is sure of yr love & affection for her .
Then she will become confident enough to trust --- herself & others too ---- knowing that u will not abandon her like her previous owners did.
Gd luck and happy petting !!!!!!!

Lots and lots of affection and never raise your voice. She will probably need not only a vet visit, but an obedience school in the future. You are wonderful for caring!

Leave him a lone for brief periods at a time. (Sounds silly, but it really does work:)
5 min.
10 min.
15 min.. and so on... always with the same routine.. crating is good..
Why am I answering this so seriously...? *sigh* must be time for me to head to work..
Good luck with your dog.. he'll be okay.. he just needs to learn you WILL always come back... and he's safe and secure. Be patient.

Have a vet check her out first to make sure she is healthy. All you could do is give her time to get to know you both and give her lots of love and attention.

Get her a stuffed animal to sleep with. Also a wind up clock under a towel (simulated heart beat).

Take the puppy to a vet

That's so nice of you. I wish there were more people like you. But I think whatever you're doing is good enough. She just needs time.

Just hold her and comfort her but first I would take her to the vet and make sure nothing in broken.

this dog needs to see a vet asap. It was nice of you to take her in but something is obviously wrong and needs to be checked out.
