ABS problems?
I have a 1997 grand am, the ABS light always comes on and when it is trying to come on the car will try to stall unless I put it in nutruel. I was wondering if anyone might have had this same problem, or if someone knows how to fix the problem? One of these times I'm going to end up getting in a wreck.
Only my ABS light comes on and no other lights. When it is warm outside the light comes on more often, like everytime I drive. It will come on after I move for about 50 feet or so.

You should also review your engine tune-up items like spark plugs and wires, air filter, PCV valve and other emissions subsystems that could make your engine stall. If your car has never had a new set of spark plug wires, now might be a good time to get them, and you could have your engine compression checked at the same time when the spark plugs were replaced. I would also clean the throttle plate and bore with an old toothbrush and spray household cleaner. Remove the air intake duct from the intake manifold and have a friend press on the accelerator pedal to hold the throttle plate open for you (engine off). Clean the back side of the throttle plate as well, especially around the perimeter. You can clean your Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor as well (see the link below).
I think the answer above is right on the money and explains why you see some dash lights flickering as the engine falters. However, to make sure, you should have your OBD-II diagnostic error codes read out of your ECM computer data link connector located directly below your steering wheel. An Auto Zone parts store may do that for free if you have a store in your area. The ABS error codes may be set in your PCM powertrain control computer, so you may need to get a shop to read those out if they're not set in the ECM.

My experience with this has always been a bad alternator or connection. As the car loses electrical power, dash lights start to come on one by one. If your battery light comes on, have your alternator tested at AutoZone.
