Fellow Notre Dame fans, who is going to be the starting QB at the start of the season?...Clausen?...Jones?

Seems like the press I've been reading lately has Demetrius Jones as the starter if the season started today...I would say Jimmy Clausen is not the #1 college QB prospect for nothing...Maybe Jones starts the season opener with Georgia Tech at QB, but wouldn't it be silly to bench the #1 college QB prospect?...There are rumors that Clausen may be injured...but of course, no one is talking...

Let me begin by stating that I am a Notre Dame fan. I subscribe to Rivals.com and I have been monitoring this situation very closely. From everything I've read, Charlie Weis won't be letting the cat out of the bag. Reporters are only allowed to watch the first 20 minutes of each spring practice and the QB's are just warming up during that time. However, CW did say that he wants to narrow the race down to 2 by the Blue and Gold game on April 21st. There is a lot of speculation that it will be Demetrius Jones and Jimmy Clausen. As for JC's injury, there were rumors circulating that he had bone spurs in his elbow. That story has proven to be false as Clausen has yet to miss a practice.

First of all, I am not a Notre Dame fan. I believe that Jimmy Clausen deserves to start. I watched film of him in high school, and he is definitely my number 2 QB prospect (behind Tyrod Taylor). He seems to be smart, accurate, plays with intensity, throws a good deep ball, has decent mobility and footwork, and can read and pick apart defenses. The only cause for concern is his inexperience and how he will perform at a bigger stage like college. If he can play well in pressure situations, why not start him? He reminds me a little bit of Notre Dame legend Joe Montana.

1st things 1st i HATE the Irish!! GO TROJANS!!! but i do love attending USC vs ND gaems...theres no better atmosphere. i will admit i like the games better in south bound. youre closer to the field than in the Colesium and the small town makes it feel like all any one is talking about is that game for the entire time youre there...

2cd...ive followed JC closely. for a kid who has had pro QB coaching , literally the same coach that help M. Leinart, since he was in Jr High, i expected more from him in HS. in this past years st champ game he threw 2 ints and 0 tds in the 1st half. ended the game w/ 3 ints and 2 tds and his team BARELY won in OT. this was against a team that had ligit div 1 college prospects. during the regualr season he racked up huge #s against Div 3 schools (small schools w/ lil talent) and his own team was stacked w/ 9 Div 1 college prospects. since his HS was private they were aloud to recruit so they put together an all star team and had them compete against no bodies. so of course his team made him look 100X better than he is. hes EXTREMELY over rated!!! he only has the hype he has because his parenst paid for professional coaching, an advantage no other high school qbs have. and he only had the opportunity for that coaching because of who his older brother is. ( a qb coach and ex TN qb)
