Gay and Nerd?

Question

I am handsome and consider myself a very attractive guy (I am 22).  I am gay and also I am a straight looking guy (which I don't like that much)... the thing is that whenever i go out guys don't look at me more than once because they think i am straight... then... the few guys I date with are just not to smart... and plus... I am quite a nerd guy who is always reading and doing things only guys above their 35s and 40s would be doing.

Finally, I end up always dating with older guys (the average is like 35years old) and it never works... I just need to meet a cute guy around my age!!! but it seems guys of my age only look for sex and meaningless relationships...

What am I doing wrong here?  Why is it that the only men that always are trying to hit on my are older???   :o(

Ok, you're not a nerd. There is nothing wrong in being handsome AND smart. You are just looking in the wrong places. It seems like you are looking for someone with similar maturity and interests. Have you considered dating other races? Check out GALAS if you havent yet.

You are 22 guy. You should be having fun, and dating guys your age because you probably won't have too much in common with a 35 year old..(no offense). You just need to loosen up. Get some new clothes, and a new style. Maybe ask a gay friend to help you out. The new clothes and style will give you new confidence in yourself and allow you to find a guy that is not only smart, but more like yourself. Just make sure that when your with a guy that you are real, and yourself and you should find someone that you  like. Hope that I helped you.

Depending on what part of the country you are in---you should check out MIT (Cambridge MA) or CalTech (California)---they have some really cute, brilliant gay men who attend school there for undergrad and grad, and they are your age too!  Also I am sure you can find clubs in your area that are geared toward men like yourself who like things that revolve around an 'intellectual' nature.  Believe me, you will have a blast once you find one and join and participate.  Also you ever thought about joining Mensa.....this organization could definately help you in a guy department.  There are all sorts of ways of meeting men your age...but since I don't have a geographic view of where you live...I can only go about generalizing for you :) I hope you do find your true love---you seem cool! have mindset not to date anyone old enough to
be your dad.

another thing that you could look at 
date those that have their own place.

those two things will make a major difference
in your outlook.

you should try hitting on other guys because people wont know you gay. try the local gay bar or places where gays hang out. or better yet try the internet
