What does it take to get a "top contributor" tag?

I'm one of the top 5 answerers for the Running section, but I still cant seem to get a "top contributor" tag. Is it more than just getting best answers?

It is NOT just about points, Levels or even Best Answers. It seems to be more a case of staying in 1 or 2 categories and answering a LOT there.

The Yamster himself explains all about it at this blog:

I researched a couple of community members that have the tag and they answered about 45 questions in the last 30 days in the same category. I didn't check the percentage of best answers they had so I don't know if that is factored in or not.

Answer a lot of questions in just one category and you, too, can be a "Top Contributor!" Seriously, I didn't get the ugly orange "top contributor" badge until I hit level 6 because I tended to answer in many categories and only recently, as part of my strategy to make it to level 6, started concentrating on a couple of categories. Suddenly, poof! I had the badge!

I saw one woman with just 1,000 points had a "top contributor" badge but, looking at her answers, yeah, she'd answered almost all of her questions from one particular category. You can do it, too! Just remember, though, you have to KEEP ANSWERING those questions or you can lose the badge. I've seen people complaining because they lost their badge but they must not have kept answering.

I would just keep focusing on your category the way that you are

I think that it is more about the number of answers in a given category rather than the "Best Answers"

I was nowhere near the "Top Answerer" in my category, but I do focus there more than other (and I answer quite a bit)

Yeah im no longer too prepared on them because it could impression peoples votes while balloting for superb answer and the full superb contributer element is slightly pretentious besides. I didnt even would desire to get many superb solutions to get mine, it relies upon what catorgorys you write in and how everyday they are. additionally i think of which you will desire to be waiting to award factors to greater beneficial than one answerer on a question additionally. As many a time have i struggled to %. an excellent answer, as there have been a pair of solutions that have been deserving of it.
