Do you find it annoying, when large groups of people go to restaurants together?
Why or why not?

it can be annoying if they're really loud and spoil the mood of the restaurant..if you were planning a nice romantic dinner then it would be awful..sometimes, though, it is fun to be one of those big 'annoying' groups and you can have a really good time (only bad thing is when it comes to the bill and how to split it)

Yes, I find it very annoying! I went to a restaurant and a ridiculous large number of people were seated in the middle of the restaurant ,,,,3 long tables and my service suffered because the wait person had a difficult time tending to the large party and my group of 2! However, if the restaurant is a well-run restaurant then patrons should have no trouble getting service with a large party seated. But I do find large groups of people rather noisy!

As a server I prefer to wait on tables with 2-4 people because it's more intimate. Large parties require a lot of attention during certain times of their meal. (for example getting the first round of drinks to 15 people is difficult.) However, once the order is taken and given to the kitchen the work tends to ease a little until it's serving or clearing time. The big rules are: tip at least 20% and do not ask to split the check.

When I've worked as a server, only a few occasions where it annoyed me.
1. When the majority of the party is kids who are wild and all over the restaurant.
2. When a large group shows up during the busy lunch hour (when the place is packed) and act so surprised that they couldn't be seated immediately. Duh! There's no place to put you! Next time, call in a reservation well in advance!
3. When they show up 10 minutes before closing, stay several hours after closing, and leave a crappy tip on top of that!

From working in a restaurant for some years now, I would have to say it just depends. With large parties, gratuity is automatically added to the bill, and if they are really cool, they'll usually leave a little extra. But when they are rude, super needy, loud, and just disrespectful of everyone else, than no, I don't like large parties. The only large parties that no one who's been in the restaurant industry for some time likes are bachelorette parties. Most annoying group of women ever!!!

No, I don't think it's annoying, probably because I do it every week; on Sunday night about 15 people from my church go to Wendy's and were like the only ones there!

NO I DON'T REALLY FIND IT ANNOYING WHEN GOING FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY OR A REALLY LARGE FAMILY. IT FUN TO EAT OUT WITH FRIENDS.
UNLESS YOU WORK AT DENNY'S AND ARE A WAITRESS THERE THEN IT IS ALL BAD BECAUSE PEOPLE EXPECT 5 STAR FOOD AND SERVICE WHICH CAN CAUSE DINE AND DITCHERS...BUT THAT IS JUST MY OPINION

No, I actually think its very nice when people socialize. Plus its always better to entertain at a restaurant than at home.

properly once you have a great occasion it places rigidity on the kitchen as properly as group. It makes the eating place busy yet in assessment to whilst there are various tables opened up each and all of the orders are condensed. i could only attempt to attend and see. and a minimum of with a great occasion you have lots of organization and entertainment.

It doesn't bother me at all. I was a server for 8 years and actually prefered large groups. I hate when people don't tip well, big party or single person...especially when the service is outstanding.

it depends on what kind of restaurant...but there's nothing wrong with large groups as long as they're not disrespectful.
