I suppose it's possible but it'd be an extremely rare event. A woman can only get pregnant when she's ovulating which typically occurs on day 14-16 of her cycle (the first day of her period is day 1). When the egg isn't fertilized it is discarded when she's on her period.

The debate on whether or not a woman can get pregnant during her period has been going on for decades now. Just like every woman is different, so are her hormonal balances and hence her menstrual cycle. Though there are generalities on which some ground basics of menstruation and pregnancy can be formed, but eventually it all boils down to individual physiology.

So, yes, you can get pregnant during your periods.

There is a definite chance that any woman can get pregnant during her periods. Though the chances of pregnancy during periods are usually low during periods, they exist for all women. During periods, the chances of pregnancy are comparatively lower at the onset of a woman's period and increase just after her periods. The truth is that there is no predictable time during the month when the risk of pregnancy can be said to be absent. Lets understand how and when this can happen

during menstral bleeding the nutrient rich lining of the uterus that supports and feeds a fertlized egg is being washed out of the body, so there is no where for a fertlized egg to implant even if she did ovulate during her period (which again, the hormones don't support this at this stage) She is most likely NOT pregnant, but if you want to try or to avoid, you should watch out about 10-14 days after the 1st day of her period, those are usually fertile days in a standard 28 day cycle.

a women's ovulating period is 2 weeks after she has finished a period and the eggs normally only last for 3-4 days so if your wife is pregnant it is highly unlikely when she is on a period. But it is not impossible but very rare.

so unlikely. Try not to worry. Usually ovulation occurs 14 days (ish dependent of the length of the cycle) from day 1 of the period.

Take a breather for a sec.... it's very very very highly unlikely. There is an extremely off possibility (double ovulation for the month, early ovulation for the next month since her mensus is clearing out the old unfertilized egg and lining of her uterus which is needed for implantation) but again- *extremely* unlikely.

Yes. But she can get pregnant either way it goes bcuz she has a cycle already. Say like for an example ya'll have sex and she isn't on her period she can still get pregnant bcuz she already started a cycle

  • 1 decade ago

No she can't. The egg hasn't been released from her ovaries yet. That happens around the 14th day. Sperm can only survive in the right conditions for up to 5 days. Relax...
