How can I make my Etsy store more popular?
I have a store on Etsy, but people haven't really bought anything there yet. Are the pictures bad, the descriptions poor, the prices too high, or something else, or do I just need to be more patient?

I'm beginning to adore etsy shopping, as an etsy consumer, I would suggest making your page a little brighter, consider a bright banner, using a special color fabric as a background for your pictures and make sure that you can see the entire item in the thumbnail. Also your prices are a bit high, I understand if work went into them but $20 for a necklace is a stretch, I'd go with at least $10. Your avatar should also be eye catching, it's the first thing people see of you, try to make them smile. Oh and make sure your pictures are bright enough to see the item, the scarf is WAY too dark, I can't tell the scarf from the rest of the pic.

Etsy needs to promote more. They're relying on members to buy from each other.
Also, if you have a popular product, it will show up in Google, so make sure that what you are selling is actually what people want.

Congratulations on owning your own business!
First off I looked at your page. As a possible consumer your site doesn't catch my eye. The photos of the jewelry should be taken on fabric that shows off their color and style. You might also want to consider doing some close up shots so people can really get an idea as to what they will be getting. Also I think your page could use a background and some interesting text. As for prices check your competitors and set your prices comprable to theirs or just a dollar or two lower.
I hope I didn't offend. I just wanted to give you an honest answer that would hopefully help your business start to thrive.
Good Luck!

I agree with the above answerers.
Also, you could try advertising on forums.
http://craftster.org/ is a forum where people share pics of their skills, not necessarily to seel the items, but a lot of people have links to their etsy stores as their signature & a lot of people on the site get really excited about some projects, enough to want to buy them
There are also a lot of clubs on MySpace ("DIY Girls", etc) where you can share your crafts & advertise your store. Also, setting up a MySpace profile dedicated to your store is fairly popular, too. Instead of personal pics, upload pics of your projects!! :D
Good luck!!!
