Why do Americans call Football a game played with the hands?

1) to answer your question...because when the game was invented there was no forward pass. the ball only advanced by running, hence the name FOOT..

because when rugby was created from "SOCCER" we (AMERICANS) had to come up with a better way of "SOCCER" so we named it FOOTBALL were we pounded the s h i t out opf people you num nut and if u guys care so much why do yall call it football world cup instead of FIFA
