What is the meaning of bunny in Easter tradition?

    well in reality easter is a christian thing that has to do with thanking god just like spring break. but the theory of the of the easter bunny is from the candy companys.

    New rabbits are a sign that spring is here. Rabbits are also fast breeders -- they're a general fertility symbol (as is the egg). Spring, new life, new beginnings, innocence ... the spring holiday is tied to teh resurrection and new life.

    ... although the basic spring symbols were there before Christianity, from the pagan equinox celebrations.

    The spring hare was the companion of the Anglo-Saxon Spring/Fertility Goddess, named Eostre. In Pagan tradition there was a feast called the Feast of Eostre for her. During this bread with hares carved in it was served and eggs (a sign of the basis of life) were painted in spring colors.

    maybe since the rabbit hops and it "delivers" the eggs..

    itsproberly more for the little kids..

    because we all know easters about jesus...
