How to improve the rear brakes on a 97 Yamaha Blaster?
Everyone I have spoken to says they can't be made any better. Has anyone had any luck with modifications? The rear hydraulic set up off the 2005/2006 models costs major $$, even on eBay...

My friend replaced his with the rear brake of a banshee and it works very well.

well it is really a pain in the rear you best bet would be to go with the hydrolic system but there are some screws on the rear brakes that you can tighten but if you tighten them too much you have to rip them apart and start over so make sure you know what you are doing...im not real sure where they are on the brakes if i had my blaster here at my house i could tell you for sure but best bet is hydrolic breaks....

you can go to a Yamaha dealer for either of these things... but if you want better handling and make the rear end more wide type in dura blue on a search engine and something should come up...they make good axles... and the thing you called the transfer case is actually called the bearing housing... be careful when installing the axle into the bearing housing it is very very very tricky... i just did it to my KFX450...it isn't to fun at all and it quite expensive
