Finger counting??
I was reading a medical report this morning and the doctor referenced the right hand 4th and 5th fingers. I'm assuming this means the right hand "ring" finger and pinky and NOT the right hand index & middle fingers?

yes, they refer to the ring and pikiy finger or phelanges of the hand. You count from the thumb to the pinky. Always medial or towards the bodty to distal away from the body. Like wise with the ribs..it would be top to bottom or superioir and towards the top and inferior and away from the top.
