How do I go about going back to school at age 40 to get my GED?
I would have to start over. I have been out so long, i have forgot about everything. Now days they teach different than they did when i went to school. Any ideas?

Yes, as the other postee mentioned, you will do fine. Check out either the local community college or your county vocational-technical school for GED (general education diploma) tutoring and testing dates for afterwards. There are study guides out there for those studying to take the GED and Barron's has an easier to read one called Preparing for the GED, and it has vocabulary of various subjects including history and science, general subject material from the different subjects and blue headings so that it's easier on the eyes. It may be found at your local library and/or bookstore. Congratulations on wanting to get your GED and starting to prepare for it! :)

Jump right in with a good attitude. Expect hard work, but learning is fun. Now that you have been through some of life, and know how easy or hard it can be not to have the proper piece of paper declaring what you "know" you should have the motivation a lot of kids don't have to keep it up even when it gets tough.
Your added life experience will give you additional "hooks" upon which to hang the knowledge as well. I hope it goes well for you!

try community colleges, most offer adult education programs. do not worry about being out so long. you can do it. good luck!!!
