97 Grand Am headlights?

I have a 97 Grand am and I was wondering where the sensor was for the headlights. The running lights come on during the day and I was wondering where the sensor was so I could block the light so my regular lights would just come on instead.

Sorry this can't be done without a lot of rewiring. The sensor is located on the dash, drivers side by the windshield..To cover it makes it think it's dark and turns on the lights, all of them. What you have is a built in safety, the running lights come on during the day time so others can see your car better, some just notice, that dude has his lights on, Oh good I'm glad you saw me. Your better off with them, than without.

How about just turning the light switch to ON? This what I do and my car doesn't have running lights. Besides, blocking the sensor might cause more issues with something reflecting off the windshield. This sensor should be on the top of the dash.

Not sure but large amount of sensors are on top of the dash by the windsheild. would look like a small round plastic plug on top of the dash normally the color of the dask but transparant so light can shine through.

Check out this website that I recently found on GM N-Bodies, it's given me alot of insight for problems or questions that I've had with my Cutlass. It may take a little searching, but I've seen it somewhere on the site. www.n-body.net

Hope this gives you the help that you needed.
