Grilling is not allowed in Fort Tryon Park. Here is a list of City parks that allow barbecuing

There are 2 parks near the George Washington Bridge (on the NYC side).

To the south of the bridge is the Henry Hudson Park which does have public grills and is open to the general public. You can also access the lighthouse directly under the G.W. Bridge.

To the north of the bridge is Fort Tryon Park, which is home to the Cloisters museum. I don't know if it has public grills, but again the aprk is open to the general public.

I think the park you are referring to is Fort Tryon Park, which is up in northern Manhattan and has great views of the river. The Cloisters, an offshoot of the Met that has medeival stuff, is located within the park too. It is a little North of the bridge, at about 190th St, but is the closest to it. (There are also smaller parks nearby, further in from the river - James Gordon Bennet Park and J Hood Wright Park) (Also I just saw Fort Washington Park on a map, but it looks to be below the bridge)

I don't remember if I saw any public grills at Fort Tryon, but you could probably call 311 (or 212-NEW-YORK if outside of the city) to find out.

Fort Tryon Park which is in the Cloisters. I've been there but I wouldn't know if it has any public grills. You do have a great view of the bridge though

Right under the bridge itself, where the Red Lighthouse is based is Riverside Park.

On the NJ side is Fort Lee Historical Park.
