After Imus who is next? Now that Imus has been canned who will be next?
Will we sock it to the Rappers and all those who demean us in their lyrics? I hope so, there is no room in our society for such trash talk. Who agrees? disagrees? and why?

Imus was out of line and his comments were uncalled for! I hope that all these rappers who write misogynistic lyrics are next because if not for them, then Imus probably would have not made the remarks he made! There is a double standard that needs to be addressed by Al Sharpton, Jessie "hypocrite" Jackson (he once called New York hymietown) and other black leaders as well! They need to boycott Time Warner and other music companies that market misogynistic rap trash to make a profit! Rap used to be cool back in the 80s and part of the 90s, but now it's bad with its minstrely and it's disrespect of not only black women but of all women (scantily clad women in music videos) and songs that boast about pimping and hos! I agree!

Who knows who will be next. A Mr Innis on MSNBC today says that Imus should not be entirely to blame that BET is primarily responsible because of the exploitation of alot of rap videos that use pretty much the same words. As long as people like Al Sharpton continue to persecute people like Imus and yet describe Rap as conscoius speaking things will continue to be wrong. As long as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson keep "picking" their fights then equality for all people will never happen. Remember the Tamara Brawly hype. It ended up costing Sharpton 345,000 for a slander violation. Also the "Reverend Sharpton" was one James Brown's touring manager

It seems to me that the complaining is against those that will provide the most publicity. I agree that the comments made by Imus are stupid and ignorant, but why is it any different then the lyrics stated in popular rap tunes? It's very hard to demand respect from others when you act like you don't even respect yourself. We as consumers have the ability to change society by deciding not to purchase those products that disrespect our own and other races. It's up to us to force change.
