im not sure if i should leave him alone????

I am dating a guy that knows my daughters father. They dont hang out and stuff, but when they see each other they are cool with each other. He treats me real good and we do alot of things together. We have been dating since the 1st of December and it is getting serious. We both have strong feelings for each other and my friends are telling me not to pursue it any longer, but I think asking people that sont know us personally will give better advice then people who do. I really want to be with him and he is really good to me and its hard. He dont care and I dont care but do you think its worth pursuing???? please help and dont be smart about it....
