Am I the only one who cannot rate people's answers?
I see all of these thumbs up and thumbs down ratings and every time I am on it says, "Rating is unavailable". I can't "vote" on other people's answers. Is this just me or has Yahoo's system gone south?

Get 250 pts. and you'll be on level 2. Then you can "rate" answers with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down."
Answer a question and get 2 pts. Ask a question and lose 5. Choose the "best answer" to your question and get 3 of those 5 back.
Be chosen as "best answer" and get 10 pts. plus 1 bonus pt. for each "thumbs up" your answer received.
Vote for "best answer" on unresolved questions where the asker was too lazy to choose "best answer" and you get 1 pt. per question. You also get 1 pt. every day for just logging in. It’s as easy as that!
Good luck, you'll be on level 2 in no time and then aim for level 3 (1,000 to 2,499 pts.)

There have been problems with people making accounts just so they can harass and disrupt the community and its member by giving undeserved thumbs down. In order to help cut down on this abuse Y!A limits the privilege to being able to vote by thumbs to level 2s and up.
You become a level 2 after 250 points.
Just keep answering questions up to your limit. That is 2 points each. If you make an effort to write out a well thought out and well written answer, you have a better chance of having it picked for best answer by the questioner or the community, which is a bonus of 10 more points!
Be sure to vote your limit on unresolved questions, which is 1 point each.
If you ask any questions, be sure to return to it to pick a best answer. That will return 3 of the 5 points you spent to ask the question.
Points are just to add a little interest and fun. Helping other people and being open to learn a lot of new things by trying to find answers is the most rewarding and fun part of Y!A. The points will add up before you know it and you can enjoy your milestones as icing on the cake.
Welcome to the Y!A community

No one who is in level one can rate or vote best answer on other peoples questions. That is a perk of reaching level 2 (250 points). You can ask, answer, and choose best answer for any question you ask. If any of your answers are chosen as best answer by either asker or voters you will get 10 points. It costs you 5 to ask but you get back 3 by choosing best answer and you get 2 for each answer. So don't ask many but answer your limit each day and be sure to choose a best answer for any you have asked. Enjoy but don't get addicted.
Added info-I made an error in my answer. You can vote up to 20 best answers a day on other peoples questions, you just can't rate answers with the thumbs up or down.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

You have to answer enough questions to reach Level 2. Once you do that, you will have enough points to rate answers.

Ok in order to give thumbs up/down ratings to other users, you must be on level 2 or higher. For more information on points system please read this link: http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system.php;_...
