Is it bad etiquette to ask a question in a couple of different catagories?

I posted a question at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoNrT...

but I would like to hear what others in that general catagory would say about the same question.

I think that if a question is applicable in a variety of categories, then asking it in more than one category makes complete sense. You're presumably here to get answers, after all, so you might as well give yourself the best possible shot at getting a good answer.

It's not bad etiquette to ask a question in a couple of different categories as long as you don't put something about Yahoo!360 in the religious category, or the dining out category, or a health category, or the food and drink category, or something like that. People looking to answer questions about Yahoo!360 don't look in these other unrelated categories. Be smart and put a question about Yahoo!360 in the Yahoo!360 category, Computers & the Internet category, or in most any Yahoo! Product category. A question about Yahoo!360 will get a good answer in these places because people who look in these categories are looking for questions of this kind and just may give you the answer that helps you!

According to the community guidelines repeated identical postings are not acceptable and may be removed by YA. However, I didn't find any objection against posting a link to the original question...:-)

i think it is acceptable, what is not acceptable is people "answering" with "didnt you post this already?" because posting a question in multiple categories gives you a broader range of perspectives...

No, that is acceptable to get the widest range of coverage.
