there are a number of animals that have scientific names starting with X (Xenopus, Xenicus, etc) and in some of these the scientific name is also used as the common name (either alternatively or solely). Probably the only animal with an English name starting with X is the X-ray fish, a small tetra from South America in the genus Pristella.

There are animals beginning with X, but that's their Scientific name, not their Common name.

    Common Name | Scientific name

Cape ground squirrel - Xerus inauris

    Sunbeam snake - Xenopeltic unicolor

Granite night lizard - Xantusia henshawi

African clawed toad - Xenopus laevis

The Regent Honeyeater, Xanthomyza phrygia, is an endangered Australian bird. The Yellow-headed Blackbird, Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus, is a medium-sized blackbird, and the only member of the genus Xanthocephalus (Bonaparte, 1850)

Xerces Butterfly is the only one I know of that has a common name starting with X.

    Unfortunately, it's extinct.
