See i think the literates have to be very consious about their enviroment and the government should strictly make a rule to preserve the enviroment.I think so if any fines of some amount are done by the police i think they will learn a good leason.Cooking in wood i think it will not be possible but wasting our natural resourses is very bad, they have to think that if they don't preserve their natural resoures then they will be in problem .

In my opinion people get educated only to get employment.Hence
education does not refine all;right from spitting & urinating in the
streets to felling of trees..But there are many illiterates who care for
the environment.I wish to share a news on a bus conductor in Tamilnadu. He conducts the bus through a forest route.Everyday,
during a midway stop, he plucks a tree sapling from a nearby place and plants it at a plain ground. This noble job takes place
on days when he conducts the bus through this route.A literate
will feel shy even to clear a banana peel lying on the street pathway, which could be the least care for environment & safety. Ironically, that literate would have scored the first mark in Ecology exam.

Appears you are not happy to be Indian- Else say "Mera Bharat Mahan" with all the good and bad it stays as this for every proud Indian.
India has a much better record in ecology than several so called developed countries.
The semi-literates are much more more dangerous as they feel they know all and yet do not. As for people using twigs in rural India as firewood they are least contributors of dangers to ecology.
Think of eco-hostile urban architecture, not sharing of automobiles, blatant misuse of energy in all modes and means in the name of human comfort and expansionist tendencies of urban planners developers and builders alike.

the literates are educated but do not show concern for
for the environment .
give them a proper wacking if they burn leaves.
but a more better way is to tell such people to
think before they act and also tell them that
destroying trees would not be saving the environment
as it would increase carbon di oxide in air.
