My dog likes coffee! Is that bad?

She enjoys it black like I do.

Is that bad?

What about your companion?

Update:

I don't mean that she drinks it by the cup full. I'm talking about a teaspoon or so left at the bottom of the cup.

Of cause coffee is bad for dogs. There is caffine in coffee and in any case why are you giving your dog things that are not healthy.

Stop giving your dog coffee, rather get treats or something, but water is best for all dogs.

That should be bad for her to have the little bit at the bottom of the cup but you never want to give them to much. Coffee can give your dog the runs. That is not good your floors. You have to make sure that she is not having it everyday. She will not benefit from coffee. It is natural but has a lot of caffeine in it. Just not to much now!

I will not let my dog or parrot get into my coffee. Caffeine is really not good for animals at all. Why not just give her something else? Here is some info:

Caffeine and theobromine have an effect on animals similar to that on people. They increase the breathing and heart rate, sometimes causing irregular beating of the heart. They cause restlessness because of the changes at the cellular level with calcium and energy sources. Caffeine also directly stimulates the myocardium and central nervous system.

Caffeine is toxic at about 63 mg per pound of body weight.

well if he drinks too much coffee he could get really sick. so i would sugget not to give your dog coffee and give the oridinal food dogs eat. It will help your dog live longer.

Will as much as the caffiene can't be ood i dont see the problem. My dog ( staff whippit collie cross ) who we affectionatly call sponge bob likes nothing better than a cup of tea (lots of milk half a sugar) and a biscuit before she settles down to watch medical detectives with my mum, so i dont thinks theres nothing wrong, unless the dog is ordering the coffee from starbucks, because not only would that be strange it would also be quite expensive!!!

No our dog don't like coffee, or anything else that is special. But I have two cats that loooove chocolate milk - cold.....

caffeinne is a strong stimulant. My daschund used to come and steal all the coffee out of any cups while you weren't watching, so we stopped him, hen for ages he used to drool huge globs, but got the idea that wasn't allowed. Took a month or so wean him, and he was all the better for having no coffee.

  • I think yes because dogs do not drink coffee and I think you should take him to the vet and see what is wrong.
