How do you change music file formats from .wma to .wav?
I am using Windows Vista Home Basic. I want to play music backwards using an audio file that I downloaded, but it won't accept audio formats writtten in .wma format. If you know how to change it to .mp3 or other music format, that might help too.

You might want to check out dBpoweramp's dMC tool (the Wikipedia link below gives some good information about the tool; the dbpoweramp link is where you can download it from). dMC is free if you don't need to convert to MP3. It can convert from .wma to .wav (or other formats), but it won't convert a DRMed file, so if your audio file is not allowed to be copied, you are stuck. I don't know of any tools which will convert a DRMed file.
If your file is under DRM, then your best bet would be to play it through your soundcard and use something like TotalRecorder (see highcriteria link below) to record it into an non-DRM file. Unfortunately, I don't know of any free software which will do this, but TotalRecorder doesn't seem to be too expensive, and I have been told that it is quite good.

once you're operating linux, in basic terms installation mpg123 and run the command "mpg123 -w filename.wav filename.mp3". once you're operating homestead windows... uninstall homestead windows, installation linux, then installation mpg12 and run that command. it will be worth it, trust me. I recommend ubuntu as a distribution.
