Update:

Don't I have the right not to be offended by the ignorance of others?

Because it's something *they're* not. I wouldn't want to be called a creationist, muslim, or woman. I'm not.

Because we are not. I am a TS and proudly not a TG. Yet a poster here who seems to get this principle of being offended by what someone is not is one of the first to try to insist that TSs are TGs. TG refers to anyone who is gender variant.

TSs are NOT gender variant, they get surgeries in order to CONFORM in their gender. MtF TSs really are women, MtF TGs are a type of man or something other than a man or a woman.

TSism is a medical condition, TGism is a choice and part of their constituency are people who consider this to be an issue that involves intercourse.

TSs are an extension of the mainstream community. TGs are an extension of the LGBT.

So please, someone should not say that they respect my right to not be classified as something I am not then turn right around and do just that. What does a gay man know about TSs and TGs? Gays do not own either one, and they need to stop trying to tell us what labels we are supposed to have. The whole purpose of the TG label is to degrade and defame the true-TSs who fully transition, get surgery, and assimilate. Transgenders and gays cannot do that, so they hate TSs and try to bring them down by forcibly lumping TSs in with gays and TGs. Those who go around saying TS and TGs mean the same are playing right into the hands of gays and others who wish to destroy TS culture through dilution. It offends TGs and gays that TSs are really a part of the mainstream community and have mainstream values.

Maybe you actaully meant the opposite of what you asked? I can imagine people not being offended by being classified by what they ARE, but I think just about everyone would be offended by being classified by what they are NOT!

How would YOU like to be classified as a murderer, and thrown in prison??? Tell me THEN that you wouldn't be offended at all!

Well I know I don't like being called something that I am not...but I think it only affects me when the classification is a negative one, then def I will not like it.

    It's insulting & disrespectful.

That's like your mate calling you someone else's name during your time of intimacy.

    Not COOL!!

I never thought things like Gay to be an insult, just an inaccuracy.

Being labeled something I am not, even if it's something benign or even positive, makes me angry.

quite easily, you're lumbering in someone with a class of people that they don't agree with.

call someone a murderer, rapist, peadophile, see how they react.

a lack of regard for someones feelings is an easy way to upset someone.
