My puppy died?

My almost one year old pug died on Saturday. Some guy ran over her when the street was closed off and no one was supposed to be on it. I have another dog, a beagle and she is very sad. I got another pug this time a black one (my other was a fawn). She plays with him even though he is still a little small to play like she plays, but she is still soooooo sad. I know it is expected that she will be sad and miss her best friend. They had been together since day one. Is there anyway to help her cope a little better. I love up on her all the time and get her to play and try to be happy. But at the end of the day when it is time to go to bed she just sits there waiting staring at the door waiting for her friend, her sister, my baby. I have never seen a dog actually cry before but she did. There were actual tears and it made me feel horrible. How can I cheer my other baby up and not make my new puppy feel left out at the same time.

Update:

To tragedys kiss... The street is closed it is not for cars.

To pork chop, my dog already sleeps in my bed. I have to sleep indian style because she sleeps in the circle it forms. Talk about leg cramps. My pug used to sleep on my pillow and curl up around my head. New puppy still too young to sleep in bed though.

Thank-you to everyone who has answered so far and still will answer.

I am so sorry for the loss of your puppy.

You are already doing the best thing that you could do - that is showering your beagle with attention. Just continue to do that, and, in time, she will adjust. Where does she sleep? If she doesn't sleep with you, maybe try taking her to bed with you, so she isn't alone. Maybe buy her a new rawhide bone, or a new toy. If she likes to go for walks or rides, take her to a special park and let her run with the puppy you now have?

Best of luck to you and your family. It will work out...it just takes time. Look at how long we are sad when we lose someone, or a pet.

This in basic terms occurred to me this morning with a Boxer pup. 7 weeks previous. Been on in basic terms complicated kibble now for for 2 days. i replaced into waiting to convey her decrease back by technique of performing the Heimlich and had to do mouth to nostril. i realized her choking because she replaced into properly choking. i concept she ought to cough it out yet in decrease than a minute she replaced into on the floor unresponsive. After this she had a mess of frothy foam that replaced into bloody coming from her mouth and nostril alongside with very quick shallow respiration. my spouse has her on the vet as we talk and that i'm fearful as hell. She replaced into genuinely useless in my hands and that i replaced into waiting to convey her decrease back. it will be helpful yet now I problem that possibly I damaged her attempting to revive her. in basic terms my 2 cents. pups can choke on any dry kibble. canines can as well. I race harness horses and they choke too. there is not any longer a lot we may be able to do about it. each and every time an excellent is going down a pipe there is the prospect of blockage. Ask a plumber.

    I'm sorry for your loss...

but your dog should not have been in the street.

They make fences& leashes for a reason

The street is for cars, not puppies.
