Yes they will....the seeding does not determine the homecourt advantage...the home court advantage is determined by the better record..as of now Miami's record is 44W and 36L compared to Cleveland's 48W and 32L....that was an issue last year, when the LA Clippers were intentionally tanking games to play Denver, even though Denver was the higher seed(Denver was a 3 seed and the Clippers were 6 seed), the Clippers had the better record (47-35 for the Clippers 44-38 for Denver) and thus got the homecourt advantage

YES!!
Pasted from NBA.com:
Homecourt advantage for any series is determined by record, not seed. So, it's possible that the 5 seed could have homecourt advantage over the 4, or that the 6 seed could have homecourt advantage over the 3.

Yes they will, They will get home court against Miami. After the NBA changed their rules. The team with a better regular season record always gets home court now.

8 teams in each conference get palyoff bids. Since home court is considered an advantage, it goes to the top half of each playoff bracket in the first round. Therefore, the Cavs would need at least a four seed to assure themselves of any home court advanatge.

no, only seeds 1 to 4 teams are on home court advantage and seeds 5-8 are on away court with three home games.

Not necessarily. If you look at the west, Utah won their conference but the Houston Rockets have a better record. In the first round, the Rockets would get the home court advantage. The top four teams accourding to the records, get home court advantage.

They will not have homecourt if they play Detroit or Chicago.
They will have homecourt against anyone else.
It goes by record, although they are the 5th seed (as of now and it doesnt look like they will catch up to #2).

1-4 home court
5-8 road teams
in general, but not in this case
since they have the better record, they'll get the home court
and as with all Cleveland questions, i have to think to myself

Does it matter Miami will win anyway, Cleveland won't have an answer for Shaq, Wade won't really be a factor with his shoulder AND tendinitis in his knee.
