He lived much of his life in a terraced house on Station Road, in Swinton. There is a plaque there and the row of houses is now called Lowry Terrace. He never lived in Rusholme, which is the other side of Manchester from Swinton, and is where a huge percentage of the best curry houses in Manchester are situated.
If you get chance to visit the Lowry centre, based at Salford Quays, then you should do it. Its a great day out.

I am very interested in Lowry, as a man and as a painter, but all i know about where he lived is that he had a house in Pendlebury in Salford (now Greater Manchester) where he lived from 1909 to 1948. I think his house was then repossessed and he moved to Mottram in Longendale in Cheshire, which is where he died. Sorry, but I have no actual addresses. I have an idea that his house in Pendlebury is now owned by The NT or something like that.
