Do you think dogs can sense their owners feelings toward another person and act in a manner in accordance?

I have 2 year old yellow Lab who is the biggest sweetheart but when he gets around people and only people I do not like he gets aggressive. He has always been able to sense people's emotions and act accordingly but I am surprised to see my sweet Lab turn into an extremely unfriendly and scary dog when we get around people I do not like. Do you think he is only feeling and acting out what I am feeling?

Either that or he can sense for himself they are not good people. I had a yellow lab and my daughter brought home a guy, he didn't even get to the porch and Sunny went nuts! He is the only person he acted that agressive to, and I know it was because there was something wrong with this guy!

I lost my baby last summer he was 12 1/2 and miss him so much. Once when I was crying really hard, he cried with me. I couldn't believe it! He could sense my mood and tried to cheer me up when I was sad. He was the best & smartest dog I ever had! You are very lucky to have such a best friend to protect you. Good Luck! Cherish him!

Yes I do believe that they can feel what their owners are feeling. They get a sense of what your feeling, they are very smart.

Dogs also know if they like or dislike people. Some dogs get an idea all by them self as to weather they like or don't like some one. Maybe that person just rubs them the wrong way and they just don't like the person.

You bet my friend. Our body lets off hormones for every different emotion we feel. That's why when your doing a training session and you start to lose patience, your dog seems to get agitated and distracted. Or when you don't feel well they always seem to be right by your side. Dogs can also sense " Non dog people" or people who just don't dig dogs. And they will be sure to let them know that they don't like them either.

Definatley! My dog, who is dead now, was my best friend! We went everywhere together. She was a rotwiler and great dane mix. She was the biggest baby you ever met until someone I wasn't comfortable with showed up. Anyone I liked she would rubb her head on their legs and lick them but if a car pulled in the driveway I didn't know or didn't like who it was she would scare them so bad they wouldn't get out of the car...she was the best dog ever and i miss her so much!

Yes... Dogs have a great sense when it comes to people's feelings and characters. My dog is the very same way!

That is why they say don't act scared....

Pets and they're owners are psychically connected. I have a dog that acts exactly the same like yours, with the exception that yours is a Lab and mine... I dk! Have you seen those pictures with people and they're animals? Dogs especially? They look identically! You shouldn't be worried about that! And take care of your dog! I love those animals who take care of they're "masters" and are like they're owners...

Absolutely. We had a dog who was just as soft and innocent as yours, but when my uncle used to visit....hackles on the up. There's no way he can have been sensing anything but the fact that my uncle, amongst the rest of the family, is about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit.

I thought it was just me my dog does the same thing. She's sweet most of the time but when I'm uncomfortable she is to. I think they sense something like our posture changes or even the sound of our voice.

Many dogs, as well as other animals are better judges of charactor than we can be. I do believe that your dog might very well be picking up "vibes" from you that this is a good or bad person. But he also might be acting out of his own instincts.

Yeah I do.. The same way that a baby can sense their parent's mood and act accordingly..
