If the person that killed all those people at VT was schizophrenic is he still responsible for what happened?
I understand he killed poor innocent people. But if he was crazy, delusional, Paranoid Was he aware of his actions. I'm not saying one way or another just posing the question.

One person's mental illness should not be anyone else's problem. There are a bunch of crazy people in this world and if any of them decide to go postal, they should be held responsible. In fact, I don't believe in an insanity plea. Everyone uses that now and it's just a way for murderers to go to hospitals instead of prison.....ridiculous.

Schizophrenia may not have to occupy a person 24/7. However if he commits the crime at the time that an episode occur, then he may not be responsible. In that case, he can plea not guilty by reason of insanity and would be place in a mental institution. But i dont think he was delusional at the time of the shooting. I believe he knows what he's doing and was aware of the consequences.

He bought the gun long before he went on the killing spree, it was premeditated mass murder. Even if it is proven he was "mentally unstable", he is still responsible for their deaths.
"Liberal pansies" Gman? Please grow up. It is not foolish or weak to regulate deadly weapons. The fact of the matter is 32 people might still be alive today if this nutjob couldn't of just walked into a sporting goods store and picked up a Glock.

There has to be a limit to how much you can skate by on your diagnosis. I work at a mental health clinic, and you wouldn't believe how many people who have mental disorders use it to get away with crap.
I'm saying that there has to be a point at which someone is accountable for his/her own actions. Things like rape, child abuse, molestation, and massive slaughter are inexcusable!

Yea, he wasnt schizophrenic, just troubled, he was on antidepressants, and he was aware of his actions. He left notes saying he was doing it to get out at the popular and rich kids. The sad thing is this will just rile up the liberal pansies that say we need gun control. Its all over now he shot himself.
