Since we are more than likely to be murdered...?

by ourselves (suicide) than by anouther person, shouldn't lawmakers do more to protect us from ourselves.

By the way this doesn't count in the dangerous and destructive things we do to our bodies.

Update:

But if it is our responsibility to seek help if we are thinking about killing ourselves how could a gun be responsible for killing others?

Update 2:

But banning drugs keeps people from harming themselves? I think "Big Brother" can save us from all things, even wackos who go on killing sprees?

Update 3:

Where are the anti gun people at? Wouldn't they argue that making more laws will solve the problem? Don't they care more?

Please save us from ourselves!!!!

No, let the people protect themselves from other people and themselves, and things will be taken care of in short order.

Actually, in the US, there are laws against committing suicide. If law enforcement is able to intervene and prevent a suicide from occurring, the person who attempted suicide will usually be referred to mental health services.
