For Math Geniuses Only!! (The first one is for normal people too) The 2nd question is harder!!?

My brain is hurting when it came to the 2nd question!!

Amy found 3 blue eggs, 8 red eggs, 7 pink eggs, and 5 orange eggs at the Easter egg hunt. What fraction of her eggs were red?

Place parenthesis were needed to make each equation true.

Ex: 8*3+2+3=43

Ans. 8*(3+2)+3=43

8*5+3=43

Now, the question

20-6*6*7*5+11-5*0=0

TY!! I know any number multiplied by zero is zero, but I don't know where to put the parenthesis...

Update:

10 minutes and I'm done!! Thanks, people... I'm just gonna pick the best answer later....

    1st answer: 8/23rds

    2nd: (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0

    1) 3 + 8 + 7 + 5 = 23 eggs in total. 8/23 of her eggs were red.

    2) (8 * 5) + 3 = 43

    3) If any number multiplied by zero is zero, you could do:

    (20 - (6 * 6 * 7 * 5) + 11 - 5) * 0 = 0

    (20 - 1260 + 11 - 5) * 0 = 0

    (-1234) * 0 = 0

    0 = 0

for the first question, the answer is 8/23, because it's 8 red eggs out of a total of 23 eggs. for the second question, i'm not positive, but i think that the answer is (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0, because whatever number that the parentheses ends up being (whatever 20-6*6 etc. will be) times 0, will be zero, so you were on the right track. good luck! :)

    First Question:

First you must find the denominator. To do this, add all of your numbers together. This becomes /23. Now, how many eggs are red? The answer is 8, and that becomes the numerator:

    8/23

    Second Question:

    (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0

Can't you just make it like that? That way, no matter what is inside the parentheses, the answer will be zero (like you said).

    (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0 = 0 Like you said, any number ...

Now, for your "easy" one: 3+8+7+5 = 23 So, 8/23 are red.

    (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0

It really doesn't matter, as long as the zero is OUTSIDE of any/all parenthesis. 20-(6*6)*(7*5)+(11-5)*0=0

  • 1 decade ago

    (20-6)(6*7)(5+11)*0=0

  • 1 decade ago

    (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0

  • 1 decade ago

    (20-6*6*7*5+11-5)*0=0
