You are starting a new world on another planet and you can take 5 people with you who would you take and why ?

Well I suppose you would want a least one man wouldn't you...and then some women....so thats the why for at least two of them. They would have to be of child bearing age, and if one was a Doctor that would be good.

I would want an engineer, a farmer, a doctor, a chef, and a sex worker, all female of course and me as Mr. Stud....now if I could only remember how to do it..........

Maybe this isn't the answer you would be looking for, but if you're trying to start a new civilization with just 5 people, your colony would have a serious inbreeding problem very quickly. This means brothers and sisters would be having children together and that is bad news for genetic diversity. With such a small founding population, you run the serious risk of dying out due to fatal genetic defects. It would be far better to bring *50 married, child-producing couples* (or better yet 500). How's that for choice? :-) Ideally, you would want to take people who are as different from each other as possible. On the one hand, variety builds robustness to ensure longevity and resiliance for your new little civilization. On the other hand, you can represent a greater portion of humanity and extend a far richer legacy for us human beings.

I would make sure the people I were all dumber then me that way I would be king and also I would want them to be disabled so the chance of a revolt would be low.
