My aunt has it, I think she got very depressed about her diagnosis...and that slowed her down much much more until she was in a wheelchair, but she found a hobby that helped her move around more, and eventually she got out of it, and is walking normally. She still has fatigue but to a lesser extent.
Just try to stay in a good mind frame about it, and excerise. And if you do find mobility hard try to find something you love to do, art is a good therapy...from writing to painting.

I have Fibromyalga and have had a lot of health problems myself .There is no cure for it but certain (MEDS) help. I am on flexeril which is a muscle relaxer becuse (FIBRO) gets deep into the muscle tissues and it can be very painful sometimes .I know what you are going through and it is rough.Try to at least once a month because that is about all i can afford get a massage it does help relieve some of the tension and good luck because i feel your pain!! GOD BLESS !! SINCERELY,LINDABUG

Make sure you are also tested for Lyme disease, particularly if you are in an endemic area. Lyme can mimic MANy diseases, and many people have been misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia (among other illnesses) who actually have Lyme disease.
Do not settle for an ELISA titer from a box-store lab. Insist on an IGG and IGM Western Blot from Igenex.
Better safe than sorry.
Hope you feel better soon,

i have fibromyalgia too, i have a severe case of it. the best thing i have found, is that even on bad fibro days, light exercise keeps me from getting in a sleep faitigued rut. eat healthy, drink plenty of water, and let yourself rest. try not to overdo things and dont be afraid to say no to tasks you may not be able to complete at that time. it is hard to manage when you first get diagnosed, but hang in there, it gets a lot better once you and your dr. discover what works for you. it is a lot of trial and error, but your dr. is the best person to help you with your fibro.
definitely make sure you get enough sleep.
if you need any support or encouragment during this time feel free to email me with any questions, or ask me questions on yahoo 360.
it is always good to check with local support groups for fibro and get the support of others with fibro during the early times of treament.
just my opinion hope this helps.

Don't freak out. Fibromyalgia is manageable. I have a great friend who is in her 70's now & has intereacted with "fibro" for many years. Something that helps her a great deal is that she uses the magnetic devices. You can locate these through Nikken products. They have a website. She sleeps on a mattress that has magnets imbedded in it, pillow the same, her jewelry is Nikken jewelry & it is magnetic too. There is a lot of good help out there for fibro. Don't despair. It's do-able.

I am in the process of being diagnosed with something... I believe it's fibromyalgia. It sucks.
If you want to talk, I would be more than happy to. I have used this site for a lot of references. Good luck!

Lupus isn't as bad as it seems. I have it and life is still fun! Sometimes the pain and fatigue or meds get ya down, but still focus on living life to its fullest!
