Quickbooks Pro 2007?

Can someone tell me how to tell the difference between Quickbooks Pro and Quickbooks Pro academic edition? I am fearful that what I got from Ebay is NOT the right software.

Also...It only says Quickbooks on the book and cover, nothing about PRO. Is this normal? Have I been taken for a ride?

Update:

What does release R1P mean? Is that a good version? Or did I get taken?

    Hi Rhonda,

The only difference between QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Pro Academic is the price. Have you installed it? The version (Pro, Premier, etc.) can be found by hitting the F2 key. The real test will be when you try to register the program. If you bought it on eBay, it's quite possible you're out for a ride.

R1P means: Release 1 Production. In other words, it was manufactured early in the production year. You can get the latest updates for the program at

Could be a couple of different issues. If you have Adobe Reader 9.0, you can try the following work around; -Click Start, go to Programs and click Adobe Reader 9. -Click the Edit menu, then click Preferences. -On the left navigation bar of the Preferences window, click the link labeled Internet. -Locate the check box labeled Display PDF in Browser, make sure it is unchecked. (and/or toggle it so it is different than what is set.) -Click the button labeled OK at the bottom. -Close Adobe Acrobat Reader. Try running the reports within QuickBooks again. You can also try uninstall Adobe Reader 9.0 (which should take you back to 8.0 and hopefully fix the problem).
