Yes!
It's used to manipulate, exaggerate, negotiate...
(I guess I'm rhyming tonight..)
But, I think it's also used in a more innocent way, when people don't know what they are feeling, such as "I love you" instead of "I lust you."
Then again, I would like to think that the word is genuine most of the time. I guess the word has a little different meaning for different people.

Yes, because it is used in a very careless, shallow way. Most of the times when we use it in everyday life, however. ''I love chocolate'', ''Thanks for making those calls, I love ya''. Personally, it's a word I don't use lightly or even seriously. I use it almost never, even when I really feel that way for someone.

Yes, it has become more of a synonym for "like." As in "I love your shoes" when we really feel no passionate emotion for those shoes, we just like them.

I think love is underused, I think it's underfelt, underappreciated and under the circumstances, I think it's misunderstood.

once people get a boyfirend/girlfriend they immediatly put on thier blogs and stuff I LOVE____
they use it as a replacment of like now..
