Harvesting Aloe?

I have an aloe vera plant, and I want to use some of it on a sunburn. Is there a particular way to do this without harming the plant?

You can cut off the whole leaf or part of it without hurting the plant. But that leaf won't grow back. Older plants have stronger aloe vera so if you have more than one, you should take it from the oldest plant you have. You should also cut off the leaf at the bottom of the plant because they are the oldest and therefore the strongest.

It is between you or the the plant.

    Which would you prefer?
