When did Michael Jackson change from seeming to be normal to seeming to be strange?

He looked normal until the early '80's, if you look an album cover for his first solo album "Off The Wall" he still looks like a normal guy.

He started slicking his look up a little more, letting his hair grow out, and it looks like he had a nose job, but still looks pretty normal. It does appear like his skin is lighter, but it could have been the way the set was sit for the cover (which is what I shrugged it off to at the time).

After that album he did have to have plastic surgery after a portion of his scalp was burned during the filiming of a Pepsi commercial in 1984, but that was just on the scalp.

If you look at him on the on the 1987 album cover "Bad" you will start to see the transformation begin into something that looks more artificial. His skin is much lighter (he claimed in 1993 on Oprah that was due to vitiligo, however, most people that have that condition it is not uniform like his is, it is patchy), nose is different, and he appears to have cheek and chin implants.

He does not look strange, he has Vitiligo which lightened his skin and a couple of plastic surgeries on his nose but he is still beautiful!!
