Yes. That's the way things work here. Your offending content will cost you 10 points as punishment, plus an extra 2 for its deletion. Good luck on your appeal, but don't count on your punishment being oveturned.

The problem with violations is that one can be filed for any reason (valid or not)

As you wend your way through the appeal process, you realize that Customer Care coudl care Less about you. If, for some bizarre reason, you get a reply, it will be insutling and condescending and will sustain the violation.

Sorry to sound so cynical, but I have never had a violation overturned on appeal

I lost 10 points today 2 for something that was not rude I still got my level and they are only point chill . they deleted 1/2 of my question so what if it make them happy so be it life is way to short not worth it to get mad

stinks, doesn't it? someone did that to me after the psycho emailed me a couple of times. its only answers and doesn't affect your life. and you will NEVER hear from yahoo on an appeal. i think they put the link in the email to make you think you can accomplish something. whoever reported you probably think they are the yahoo answers police and have no life. so feel sorry for them.

You will not received that 10 points unless your answer is choosen as best answer either by the asker or by votes.
