Should I make this Trade for Hafner?
Matt Holliday and Chris Ray for Travis Hafner.
I have 4 closers, and Markakis, Teahen, and Taveras to fill in for Holliday in the OF.
My team is lacking in HR, R, and RBI.

I wouldn't. Chris Ray is one of the best closers (what 4 do you have that are better?) and Holliday is all upside. I don't think there is enough difference between Holliday and Hafner to warrant giving away Ray. Just my opinion though, and I can see the other side of it...

No, Hafner is a great guy to pick up but you are way overpaying for him. Holliday is currently hitting .382, 2 HR and 10 RBI and last year hit .326, 34 HR & 114 RBI. Hafner is hitting .345, 4 HR & 13 RBI and last year hit .308, 42 HR & 117 RBI. Almost no difference in numbers and then you have to throw in Ray...last year he had 33 saves, 2.73 era and 1.09 whip. Already this year he has 2 wins, 6 sv. and 12 Ks in 10.2 innings. Those are dominant closer numbers and you should be able to shop just him for a solid bat. You are giving away far too much and also your only high end outfielder for a DH. Be patient and let your power get hot before you give away 2 top players for 1. Or shop a closer straight up for a solid hitter, shop one of your lesser closers for someone like Matsui (he is coming off the DL today and his owner may be frustrated). Matsui hits in a loaded lineup and will give you plenty of power, or try to pry Damon away from his owner for a closer (chip in Taveras if needed, Damon will swipe 25 bags and hit 25 HR). Dont do something foolish because your team is off to a slow start....you will regret your decision later.

Who are you using in your utility sport right now? As far as the rest of your OF, Teahen and Taveras are both struggling right now, same with Hafner for that matter. However, Hafner would definitely be an improvement in HR and RBI. Someone said that he is injury prone, but that's not the case. He was injured last year because he got hit by a pitch. That's it. I was lucky enough to have him last year and he defintely carried me. I'd say that Ray is a good choice to trade because he's pitching for the Orioles who won't have that many save opportunities in the long run and Ray has been hit hard. However, if he's your best closer, then don't do it. I'd probably offer the third best out of the four closers and see what happens from there.

No you need to keep Holliday, try and package another closer in the deal or even Taveras, but Holliday is an All-Star and only getting better. Taveras is fast but not hitting well enough to be a replacement for Holliday.

Make the trade. Matt Holliday is an excellent player but he can't get in wins because he's in a weak lineup and he cannot get RBI's because of that and also runs too. So all he's good for his really homers, whereas Travis Hafner is good for all three stats. Chris Ray is a no-brainer.

yeah i would. but you have to watch out, hafner is injury prone w/ all his power. but he is ahuge hitter, and it will probably work out in the long run.
