Could anyone name some of MICHAEL JORDAN'S NBA league records that he holds (exspecially scoring)?

Earlier I mentioned how Kobe doesn't really hold any NBA records and how MJ have a ton of them..Then some moron replied, "How many records does MJ holds besides 6 titles & mvps? You need to get your facts straight!" Lol....Now that's a Kobe moron for you. I'm gonna begin naming some & if I miss any some of you guys give me some help.

MJ's NBA Records:

Most scoring titles (10)

Highest career scoring average (30.1 ppg)

Highest career playoff scoring average (33.4 ppg)

Most consecutive games scoring in double figures (866)

Highest single series scoring average NBA Finals (41.0 ppg)

Highest individual scoring game in the playoffs (63 points)

The most points scored in one half of a NBA Finals game (35 points)

The most 3 point shots made in one half of a NBA Finals game ( six 3's)

The most total points in play-off history (5,987 points)

The consecutive scoring titles (7 in a row)

Led his team to the best record in history (72-10)

Now to that moron how many Kobe holds?

Update:

P.S. Kobe always ties, come in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th of a NBA record! That bumb doesn't hold any by himself!....and all of the youngest player to score however many points doesn't mean anything & they're getting erased by Lebron anyways!

MICHEAL JORDAN IS THE GREATEST AND KOBE BRYANT SUCKS!

Update 2:

LMAO!....Hoopfan, you are funny! That doesn't mean that MJ's defense isn't good. Anyone could be scored on every now and then....and look who it took to do it, another great scorer! Now show me video of an average player scoring on MJ!

Don't even listen to Alpha Wolf. He copies and pastes the same thing about every Jordan and Kobe message/question.. What he fails to write is that when Jordan was in his early 20's he was being double teamed.. Kobe didn't start seeing consistent doubles until he was 26. Here's a record for Alpha.... name the players in NBA history to win a scoring title and an NBA title in the same yr... Those three would be Shaquille O'Neal (once - '00) , Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (once - '71), and Jordan (six times - '91, '92, '93, '96, '97, '98). This record will never be broken. 6 scoring titles, and 6 NBA titles in the same yr.

In Kobe's scoring title yrs so far - 45 wins, and 42 wins. Kobe will never ever lead the league in scoring and win an NBA title in the same yr. His FG% isn't high enough. Kobe is a feast or famine player. One game he might go 18-28, then 7-29 the next. That happens with ALL jump shooters, which Kobe has become.

Also, name another 2 Guard in NBA history to have a team

built around him, and to win an NBA title... I'm not asking for 6 like Jordan had. I just want 1 player, in 1 season.

And by the way, Jordan was still driving the lane and dunking on guys at 28. Besides Steve Nash (6'2.5 with about a 2 inch vert), when was the last time you saw Kobe drive the middle of the lane and dunk on a guy? Those days are done for Kobe. He has small hands and those open lanes aren't so open anymore without Shaq. He said in an interview that those days were behind him and that he has transitioned his game. Yeah, he's right but he has been FORCED too. His explosion and first step is overrated, and with small hands it's very difficult to go over big guys in the NBA. Jordan was still driving the lane and facializing guys every other night at 28. Plus, Jordan didn't start consistently fading away until after the age of 30. Kobe has been fading away his entire career.

It goes beyond points/scoring. Jordan averaged over 2 steals per game 10 times in his career. Kobe has only done it once. Jordan even averaged over 3 steals per game one season. Also, Jordan had a 2 to 1 Assist to Turnover Ratio 7 times in his career. Kobe has never done it once in 10 NBA seasons. LeBron has already done it twice by the way. Plus Jordan's career FG% is 4.4% higher than Kobe's... In the NBA 4.4% is monumentally different. It's as if they're playing separate positions. I said this in an earlier post. Jason Kidd is a career .402 shooter from the field for his career. If you take away 4.4% it would put him at .358. I'm sorry but if Jason kidd shoots .358 from the field consistently, he's coming off the bench. It's the difference b/t an NBA Hall of Famer (Kidd), and a reserve coming off the bench. Again, 4.4% is HUGE!

Jordan is the greatest of all time, and it goes beyond points.

Plus, Kobe's record (speaking of records) as a starter since Shaq left - now that he's the focal point - 112-111. It's a different story when you go from being guarded by one guy, to the focal point. Even guys who put up big numbers have a tough time winning. Just ask Kevin Garnett, and he's puts up the best numbers in the NBA. It's all about winning.

he didn't have a big man but they had a lot of good players on that team. Pippen is a million times better than gasol. Pippen rodman jordan and harper made for one hell of a defensive squad. They also had good role players in kukoc and kerr. You're right, they didn't have a 20-10 guy but they made up for it with defense and rodman being one of the best rebounders of all time. Not too mention that pippen, harper, and jordan were all great rebounders for their position. How could he not have help and win six championships. It probably would have been 8 straight if it wasn't for that two year retirement. And the bulls also had THE best team of all time. They went 72-10 int the regular season and 16-3 in the playoffs. Not to mention they also had a squad that won 69 games and another which won 67. You don't do that unless you have a superb TEAM. Pippen was probably the best side kick of all time and they were loaded with great role players. If they had a defensive big man who could score some they'd probably would have gone 82-0.

Don't forget about his "legendary" defense. Here's a great example for you...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j8bhajfsok

And don't forget, Jordan also led the league in FGA a record 9 times! He was the consumate ballhog.

Jordan is TIED with Wilt for consecutive scoring titles. The only reason that Wilt stopped winning scoring titles is because his coaches asked him to pass more. So then he turned around and led the league in assists ( the only center in history to do so ). Jordan barely made the top ten in assists ONE YEAR!

"basketball is my religion"......look back to the 1986 playoffs against the Celtics. After scorching Boston for 54 and 63 points in games 1 and 2, Jordan scored 14 points in the first quarter of game 3. In the final 3 quarters, he was held to 5 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. The Bulls then went home and the Celts moved on.

Even the great ones "tank" every now and then. Jordan is no different.

  • No answer here. I'm just bowing down to the master whose name is simply "AIR". MJ is simply the best and if he'd come out of high school instead of going to college, who knows? He might have been a bum. Because of the trials and tribulations that he went through despite his popularity, he persevered and always, always gave 200% on the floor. He would never have done what Kobe did last year in Game 7 against the Suns and tank the game the way he did. MJ was a gifted, unique player who always gave credit to the ones that laid out a path for him to follow: Magic, Bird, Dr. J., etc.

There will NEVER be another MJ, period!!!

    Your honor, the defense rests!!!

Kobe's been in the game for 11 years, Jordan 15, so it's a little premature to attempt a comparison, although I think that Jordan will be pretty hard to beat.

On the other hand, Jordan is hardly the BEST of the BEST as evidenced by the following.

Most points, game—100, Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia vs. New York, 1962

Most free throws, game—28, Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia vs. New York, 1962; 28, Adrian Dantley, Utah vs. Houston, 1984

Most field goals, game—36, Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia vs. New York, 1962

Most assists, game—30, Scott Skiles, Orlando vs. Denver, 1990

Most rebounds, game—55, Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia vs. Boston, 1960

Most 3-pt. field goals, game—12, Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles vs. Seattle, 2003; Donyell Marshall, Toronto vs. Philadelphia, 2005

Most blocked shots, game—17, Elmore Smith, Los Angeles vs. Portland, 1973

Most steals, game—11, Larry Kenon, San Antonio vs. Kansas City, 1976; 11, Kendall Gill, New Jersey vs. Miami, 1999
