Im only 5'6" 110 pounds and extrmely underweight for my age (14) and height, but I love football (no I mean I REALLY REALLY love football) and didnt play in middleschool because I was worried about my size. This year as a freshmen though I dont care, I love football and for the past few months all I can think about is playing football so next year I will be a freshmen and I am playing Wide Receiver for my schools team. I am gonna be in the schools weight room everyday this summer though so hopefully i will get bigger. I have already been eating everything that isnt nailed to the floor and still cant gain weight though. My dad says he was the same way though when he was my age.

Listen to your coach. I'm sure you will hear a lot of the following.
"Keep your head on a swivel"
"Outside Containment" and "keep your outside arm and shoulder free"
"Watch the Curl to Flat"
"Read your Keys."
The position really depends on your defense and how it is set up. The head on a swivel tip is priceless. You have to keep your eyes open. Even if you read a running play you have to watch out for a wide out doing a crack block.
A lot of times you are the outside containment man because the corners are chasing recievers so you have to keep the RB inside of you.
Pass defense usually involves checking #1 reciever (the widest man out) and making sure he's not running a curl or slant route into your zone. Then making sure the running back isn't coming out to the flat.
Hope this helps.
