At what point of the year will the "trade Manny" talks begin?

Sometime in June when the Red Sox might be in a little of a slump he'll say he wants to be traded.

Actually i dont think there will be any talk of it this year. Personally i think that this is the best team they have had since they one the world series. They have one of the best starting lineup 1-8 in the american leage (top 3 behind white sox and yankees). and they probably have the best Pitching order in the league. i mean come on: Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield, and the rookie of the year Dice-K. Not to mention the best closer in all of major league baseball Jonathan Papelbon.

Boston has it good this year, really good. Why would Manny want to trade out now?

I do not think it will happen this year, Manny has now said he wants to finish his career in Boston, I think that they have figured out that they will not get fair value for Manny and they would probably have to eat too much of the remaing contract for it to be worthwhile. I also think that they wont trade him because the team is too good to ruin by trading away one of the best bats in the game. I hope we wont have to deal with the Manny trade talk , FINALLY!

Tuesday July 17 at some point after the 5th inning Manny will go itto the Monster and not return for 15 minutes to which some one will say "Manny being Manny"

It started as soon as Manny arrived in Boston. What are you talking about? Do you know the history of Boston and them having a black player on the team? In 1960 Ted Williams had to yell his head off just to get two of his black teammates their luggage. This goes back over 40 years. They do not appreciate what a great player does for their team if he is black. If I were black the Boston Red Sox would be the last team I would want to play for. Please trade this man.

I don't think he will be traded, as for the talk that's already ended. People only say that crud because manny usually starts of his year slow. Having a bad batting average, but he always picks it up...He's a great player and he won't get traded.

When Manny has another Girly Girl Hissy fit and walks of the field like he did last yr when we went to Boston for that 5 game series,He didn't like the Umpires call and walked of the field and didn't play for the rest of the week.They tried to trade him over the winter,but NO ONE wanted him,,Would you? he's not a team player!!

Where the hell have you been????????????? They were talking about the whole off season..........The Sox won't trade many for just a bag of balls........They will want $ for $ nothing less........he's in Boston for the season, get used to it!

now! trade him to the cardinals anemic offense! they need to do something! manny would help - heck anyone would help! i would love to see the cards get somebody this season before the trading deadline!

as long as he presents himself the way that he does, NO ONE should trade for him. His appearance and attitude is a disgrace to Major League Baseball.
