Can anyone please explain exactly what "happy go lucky" means?

I hate it when people say this, it sounds like the name of a race horse. What exactly does it mean?

A person who is "happy go lucky" is someone who doesn't let life get them down, no matter how bad and hard it is. They just seem to roll with it, with a smile on their face.

Carefree, living for the moment, not overly concerned about the future. Kind of like the grasshopper in the Aesop's Fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper."

Goes round without a care in the world.
