I don't think that John Murtha "whined and complained" in the Nam while he was serving there. It may be hard for you to understand if you haven't been in combat that we don't want to see these Troops today go through what we've been through. First you fight in a war that is politically driven and with a goal of settling a civil war. Both Vietnam and Iraq are wars that we shouldn't have committed our armed forces to. When you come home from the war there is not a "cool down" base to go to where there are Psychologists and Md's to help in your transition back to a normal life.

When you do get out and step into the VA services there has to be a quicker reaction by the VA to help the returning troops as well as Veterans from the other wars. The VA is drastically underfunded and understaffed. Case in point, I've been waiting over two years for an appeal that as of now has not been scheduled let alone settled. I don't think that John Murtha is a "bad apple" but rather a true Veteran and a Patriot and is very concerned when our Troops are committed to battle. I think that He truly believes what he says but that sometimes he jumps to conclusions and should really wait until all the facts are in.

He should have gone to prison for his involvement in ABSCAM. He's a crook and he takes bribes. Just because he's a veteran, doesn't mean he's one of the good ones.
