milestone waking in my 7 month old??
My 7 month old daughter is usually a very happy baby. Recently shes started to try and crawl, getting very frustrated that she can't. Well the last two days she has been waking up way earlier than normal (about 4am) and she wakes up screaming bloody murder, which never ever happens. She screams until i lay her on the floor to play. than shes happy and content while attempting to crawl.
Is this just milestone waking thats makin her so cranky or do you think its something else?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!
when babies reach milestones, especially ones that make them mobile...some of them literally become consumed, preoccupied or obsessed, really, in practicing that milestone over and over again. unfortunately this also holds true at 4am. give her a few days, but don't let it go beyond that or new habits will have formed. you may have to let her cry just to let her know you mean business. this little stinker sounds very determined. my second was like this and was RUNNING by 10 months. hold on to your hat and GOOD LUCK!

I experienced this as well with my daughter! It was a chaotic time.
Our pediatrician told us that around 7-8 months your child starts to develop their personality. Also that the child is more aware of their surroundings so they can sense when you are not around. She can also dream at this age--and she may be getting startled awake---
Seeing that you say she is content to play and attempt crawling! I also learned that children have so much going on in their little baby brains--that sometime they can't sleep because they have so many ideas.
It sounds so cute! To be it sounds like your daughter really wants to start crawling and she can't just lay in bed and think of all the wonderful things she could be doing!
That's such a blessing--enjoy her!

I just experienced this with my 7 month old, she always slept through the night, and a few weeks ago she started waking up during the night, screaming. I realized quickly that if I picked her up she was fine, but if I put her back in, she quickly got back into screaming. So I sent my husband in to lay her back down, and she stand up in the crib, and off to sleep she went. We did this a few times, and bam shes back to sleeping all night again. The problem....nothing, but when she seen me, she wanted me to pick her up. Thats just something that worked for me, but every child is different. My cousins baby was sleeping all night till she turned 5 months, now she wakes up constantly at night still. Im just glad I got her back to sleeping all night!! Good Luck

It must startle you when she screams bloody murder ;-D but the crawling thing sounds so cute. Maybe she'll grow up to be one of those early rising triathletes! Ha ha!
Is she also teething. My baby is 6 1/2 months and she craves entertainment, especially when her budding teeth are bothering her. So cute. Peace.

Yes, I think you are right on. I think when babies start to learn something new, their brain is on fire with new synapses forming and they are so excited, that they wake up and are kinda excited. This happens when they first learn to stand, and they get stuck standing up in their crib and can't figure out how to get back down, for example.

You definitly have a baby. No question. This baby will continue to do things you will not understand. Some things you will like. Some things you will not.
One day she will be a teenager. Enjoy the time now......

is she ever around other babies who know how to crawl? if so then i think she may be betting frusterated because she cant do it.. maybe shes trying to practice so she can learn to crawl as well... dont worry it should be fine but if yuo're still concerned ask her doctor.
