Are the Browns trying to trade for Larry Johnson?

A friend of mine advised me that the Cleveland Browns were talking to the Chiefs about a possible trade for Larry Johnson. He claims that this rumor has been all over the web, but I have yet to see it! Does anyone know anything about this rumor or where I can read anything about it?

The Chief released a statement saying they weren't shopping Johnson. So more than likely they couldn't get the picks they wanted for him and killed the deal.

so far it is mostly a rumor on myspace chiefs groups. There were a few posted stories, but kinda hard to seperate it from shinola. Sure the Chiefs would listen to any offers, but they are also in negotiations with LJ on a new contract. Which would actually make him more tradable if that happens. Thing is the Chiefs want draft picks. It is going to take 2 1st round pics and at least another 3rd to get LJ from the Chiefs. Johnsons, two biggest knocks is his pass blocking ability and his mouth. He has proven in the past couple of years that thechip on his shoulder that helps him run so well also tends to lead him into controversy in the pressbox and media. making comments that he doesn't want to play for a white man. And he feels he is being disrespected for this and that.

I live near Cleveland and listen to the sports shows every night and I have heard nothing about this at all. LJ is a great player, but the Browns don't need to be giving up multiple draft picks to get him because they have too many other holes to fill. I haven't seen anything about this on any websites either, so for now, I wouldn't think anything of it.

Who wouldn't be trying to trade for Larry Johnson? The Chiefs are floating that out there but not seriously. I wouldn't count on that happening.

No i think it is just rumors, the brown's are most likely going to take Adrian Peterson running back he is the best RB in the draft. What they also need is a QB, i think they will give frye another chance but maybe sign a QB in free agency just in case. But they need a running game. Johnson i think will stay in kansas city. The brown's dont need him.

I think this would be good, but If there is no line to open holes then it would be a waste. So, I wouldn't waste draft picks for him. We need a lot of help on the line.
