Where does disk defragmenter send the fragmentated files?

wait .. whne you say you did a system recovery , what do you mean , did you reinstall windows, with rescue disk from your computers maker ?? if so , your done , they are gone .. those disk erase the hard drive, and reinstall windows like the day you bought it ...

Disk defragmentation doesn't send the files anywhere special, it only moves the files into a contiguous space on the disk.

The fragmentation of a large file occurs when there is not enough space in a single area of the disk to store the entire file. actually a disk defragmentation re orders all your files so they are back in sequence.system recovery while restore your computer to an earlier "snapshot". the snapshot used may not have the files your looking for.in which case youll have to go back to the latest snapshot to have your files.
