which non fiction book to read?

Running With Scissors

I usually dont like non fiction books, but I read this one for my english class and I liked it! Theres also a movie for it, that recently was in theaters and is now on DVD.

It's about the author, who tells about his crazy, messed up teen years. It's funny, and entertaining.

Not so sure about a ninth grader. However, my favorite non-fiction book of all time was written in the late 50's about the time everyone was freaking out about a nuclear war and building bomb shelters. The original set of two books is infinitely better than the version out today in one volume. The book is entitled THE WAY THINGS WORK. It was written in case you happened to survive a nuclear war. It tells you things like how to make a simple lathe, make vinegar, soap, alcohol for injuries and other well worth reading things that can actually help you later in life.

While not exactly a book that would fall under "fun" I read a book called "Not without my Daughter" by Betty Mahmoody. It was extremely interesting, about a woman who's husband holds her against her will in a forgien country.

I'm not entirely sure what the age range for it is though

The Zombie Survival Guide, by Max Brooks is hysterical. It's in non-fiction humor

Running with Scissors is also rather humorous about a dysfunctional family by Augusten Burroughs, memoir/biography.

The Hot Zone by Richard Preston. It's about the history of the Ebola virus, and traces and describes outbreaks in Africa as well as related outbreaks in Germany and the US. It's a fascinating book, and terrifying as well since it's all real history.

Read "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers". Sounds strange, but it is an interesting book about what role human bodies have played in medicine, public health, public safety and research.

The Great Escape by Paul Brickhall. True story of an escape from a German POW camp in WWII

Please read it, what those men went thru was amazing
