can photo paper be painted over with lacquer? what kind?

i want to seal photographs glued to wood blocks to protect them, and maybe give it enough of a gloss or matte finish?

i'd appreciate if you describe the type i need to use, brand names such as mod podge would't be useful since i'm in a place where it's not available and where there are NO (specialty) craft stores! that's why i'm looking for a description so i can loook for it somewhere (bookstore or hardware store maybe). thanks in advance.

Oh, sorry- I just saw your other question about not answering this one. We used to do that with pictures with plain old shellack. But I don't think we did it with real photos, just pictures from magazines.

There is a product out called "diamond glaze" and it dries to a glass like finish.....very nice !!!

I use it with bottle caps and an image glued inside ( but glue is really needed) and then applying the "diamond glaze" ...get rid of the air bubbles with a pin...and in 24 hours you have an image behind what looks as if it was set inside glass.

I think it is better then lacquer or Mod podge which you can buy on line if you want that.

Diamond glaze is made by Judi-Kins and as a matter of fact, you can go to judi-kins ( or google diamond glaze) print off a questionnaire and they will send you a free sample of the diamond glaze with a 52 cent self addressed envelope.

It's worth a try ? You might like it best ?

    Good luck !!!

Maybe you lost track because you posted the same question so many times, but you did get some good answers earlier.
