Miss America 07 a fraud?

I still don't understand the point of Miss America. What does the winner do all year? If it's helping kids, why do they need to win a beauty contest to do that? I'll never understand the whole Miss America thing.....oh well.

Miss America is so fake, I respected her for helping catch online predators, but now she backs out of testifying and jeopardizes the cases against them. She is a witness and must testify, get the creeps of the street so our chilren will be safer. If she continues to be self-centered and refuse to testify then she needs to be stripped of her crown. And be charged with a crime. She is pathetic.

She did it for her own publicity evidently. If she were honest in wanting to put an end to this, why wouldn't she go all the way with it? I guess some people just say what they feel will get them ahead and do nothing to back it up. Once they get what they were out to get to begin with (crowned Miss america!).... Hey! Why go any further with it.. I think that is just being a big phoney! back up your words with some action! These people need to be off the streets. Our children need all the help they can get to be safe from this garbage!

Yes, what's point - she will be only replaced by another pseudo person looking to get the reward and not act on the responsibility of the position - kind of like a lot of politicians I know - may be the Miss USA Pageant needs to end - it was already on a downward spiral a few years ago -
